Do you think it is right to be deliberately rude to telemarketers?

I wasn't aware that this was still a problem, with the do not call registry and all. I get like one or two a year so I don't usually think about them. In any event when I do have a call from them I'm absolutely ruthless, pull no punches and try to break them down. If they are good at their job they can handle it and move on. Survival of the fittest. As far as knowing a telemarketer, or even having to be one for a week goes, I was one for much longer than that and I did my job well. I have had to deal with people much worse than I ever have been to telemarketers, which is pretty bad considering how much of a prick I can be, but I have heard death threats and the whole deal. As far as being nicer to them if I'm interested in a product, that still has never come up. Chances are that if i'm interested in a product I'll go out and buy it myself.
