Striping of the membrains?

ook so i was checked today at my appt. i am 3cm 50% and at -2......... and she striped my membrains..... i know it is not full proff. but if it works. how long in genaral does it take to work if it will work. and i know i am spose to spot or bleed. and i am... does this meanshe did it right and it will work if you spot or bleed........... im am 39.4 with #4...... thanks
