HELP. worried about cartilage piercing?

i took out a 6 hour old piercing earring, i had it done at piercing pagoda but i had to take them out. my ear was not infected and it was not hurting but now i cant stop worrying that the piercing will not heal or close up since i took it out too early. can i still get an infection? should i keep cleaning it?
