What process are involved in producing both haploid sperm & egg?
that process is called meiosis, which consists of many steps, such as prophase1, metaphase1, anophase1, telophase1, prophase2.....etc. basically, to get a haploid, you start out with a diploid and their chromosomes divide in half and the cell splits [cytokenisis]. The sperm contains 23 chromosomes=half the number of human chromosomes, and the egg contains 23 also. Haploid means 1/2, or "n" and diploid means "2n"; in mathematical words, so meiosis is the process, however there are many sub processes, such as the division of chromosomes and cytokenisis. Hope it helped =]
